How to Change Post Listing Styles in Typer theme

Typer comes with several ways to which your posts can be displayed. This tutorial will cover how users can change their post listing style on the Typer theme. These changes apply on your archive pages such as categories or tag pages, therefore the user needs to ensure that their posts are defined with the right category or tags. Typer offers post listings in several types of layouts which are, default list layout, big list, masonry and grid listing.

  1. Default List Layout

This layout displays archive posts in a list format with the inclusion of the featured image. Users can decide which side the featured image should be displayed either on the left or right side of the post. More So users can also choose to enable or disable showing the images for the standard post format in the post listing. Under this style users can opt to make the first post big or not. This style comes with a standard row format to show the number of posts in each row in the sidebar layout and full layout. The sidebar layout allows a maximum of two posts while the full layout allows four posts.

  2. Big List Layout

Big list simply displays your posts in list format also but in a bit different approach. The featured images are displayed below the post excerpt unlike in default listing where it was beside. Users can choose how they want the thumbnails of their posts to be displayed either in a normal or wide layout. Similarly, this style allows users to make the first post big or not. It also comes with a standard row format to show the number of posts in each row in the sidebar layout and full layout.

  3. Masonry Layout

This type of listing displays your posts in a grid format without the preference of height. In a single post container it shows the image of the post then a category or tag below it is the post title and an excerpt. The masonry layout optimizes the use of space inside the archive page by reducing any unnecessary gaps. Similar settings of posts per row apply in this style as in the previous styles.

  4. Grid Listing

This type of listing displays your posts in a perfect sizing of rows and columns. For this case the grid listing contains two columns and a several rows depending on the number of posts in your archive page.

All the four post listing layouts have a general setting to which users can alter. Typer theme users can opt to show different meta names within the archive pages such as author avatar, author name, date posted, and bookmark button. The settings also allow users to change the background color of the post title and positioning of the background image. One can also change the font size in all post listing styles.
