WP Bakery Page Builder is a WordPress page builder plugin that helps you to create designs without having to do any coding. This plugin provides you with more potential know-how when it comes to editing of your content from your pages. In the Kleo theme, it has been used to create many various ready page designs.
The plugin is integrated within the theme, which ensures that certain extra functionality like automatic upgrades, template libraries can be excluded by the developer of the plugin. With this regard, you’ll require to have your own plugin license in order to access certain features, where one can get it from where he/she purchased the plugin. However, it doesn’t mean you will not be able to get plugin updates at all. With theme update, we always attach the newest version of the plugin.
Step 1: Ensure Plugin is Installed and Active
Make sure you’ve enabled the WPBakery Page Builder feature. This plugin does NOT come built into the Kleo theme (for obvious reasons) so it needs to be installed and activated. You may have been notified to install the recommended plugins after installing the kleo theme. If not installed, head to your WordPress Dashboard and access the Appearance > Kleo panel. From this page select theme addons where a grid listing of the theme’s recommended plugins/addons will be displayed. Simply click on install and then activate the WPBakery plugin in case it’s not installed.
Step 2: Manage the Plugin Settings
One can access the preferred settings of the plugin from the following destination: WordPress Dashboard > WP Bakery Page Builder > General Settings. The most critical option is to make it easy for the composer to use the post types you want. It is simply achieved through the “Role Manager” section and the “Post Types” options. Simply head to WpBakery Page builder > Role Manager, then change Post type to custom and check all the boxes to activate the Page builder on all those posts.
Step 3: How to use the page builder
Simply start by adding a new page through the usual routine from Dashboard > Pages > Add new page. Then you’ll have to choose between the Backend Editor or Frontend Editor to edit your page. Backend Editor gives you the backend interface while Frontend Editor gives you the user interface.
Step 4: Adding Elements to the Page
The backend editor provides easy-to-use tools for inserting page elements or choosing page layouts. Head to the page / post and enable the backend editor first, and hit the Add symbol. Once you click on the + key, the page builder window will appear for you to insert the elements. Here you’ll find all types of WordPress elements and full page building Components. Just click on it to add a page element.
Step 5: Modifying Elements on the Page
Use the options for the page element to modify the website page. Every component has different customizable options, such as colors, fonts, borders, images and more.
- To change the size of the row (number of columns) you need to hit the second icon on the left, then pick a layout or customize to make it your own.
- Use the pencil icon if you need to edit a Row, Column or Element.
- Use the pages Icon in case you need to duplicate a Row or an element.
